A little story of how we came to be:

Once upon a time, after several trips to Chicago,
Jay and Joe (our owners) strived to capture the
essence of its bars and restaurants right here on
our very own Grand Avenue and have succeeded.
Impressed by the atmosphere and the neighborhood-
style cooking of the North Side, they craved to bring
some of Chicago back to St. Paul. This inspired the
current theme of the Wild Onion Restaurant, a Chicago-
style menu mixed with a busy and friendly neighborhood buzz.

Why are we called the “Wild Onion” you ask?

Well, Chicago draws its name from the Native American
word Chigagou, meaning “land of the wild onion.”
Therefore by calling ourself the “Wild Onion,”
we are representing a little bit of Chicago right here
in St. Paul. Grand Avenue may not be Rush Street
but the flavor and texture is comparable.

Please enjoy our Food, Drink and Atmosphere!
All inspired by the Windy City itself and presented
to you in the finest and friendliest Minnesota fashion!
